• 大学院でお勉強して文章を書くときに覚えておいたほうがいい単語をいくつか紹介する。Pocket Oxford English Dictionaryを主に参照しながら。こうした単語をちりばめて書くとすっきり論旨がまとまる。

• 20:49  例文はGian N. G. OrsiniのBenedetto Croce(1961)から。アメリカの古き良き時代の人文系博士論文の見本みたいな文体なので参考になる。頁はこの本を参照するため。

• 20:50  eschew(v):意図的に避ける。His doctrine of aesthetics eschews abstract speculation on the Beautiful (5p)みたいに使う。便利な言葉。

• 20:53  lucid(a):簡単に分かる、明快な。...were discussed by him in a series of lucid analyses that..（５ｐ）という感じ。

• 20:57  reckoning(n):意見あるいは考慮すること。..his continual reckoning with different ways of thinking(5p)とかね。これもよく出てくるな。

• 21:01  scrutiny(n):徹底的に検討すること。..he then subjected them to critical scrutiny and found them...と使う。examineを使わないでこう書くとかっこいいよね。（６ｐ）

• 21:06  prone(a):まずいことにとかそんな否定的な感じ。..It is therefore very hazardous to assert (as some critics are prone to do) that （９ｐ）...みたいに使う。よく出てくる。

• 21:11  expound(v):理論とか考えを体系的に示したり説明したりする。his different aesthetics phases are (中略）expounded in its main principle in Chapter 2（１０ｐ）みたいに使う。スマートだね。

• 21:12  人の論文を読んで、パラフレーズをしながら自分の意見を理路整然と述べるための便利な単語をいくつか紹介した。機会をみてまた紹介したい。（この項　完）
